Monthly Spotlight: Rutherford County, TN

Rutherford County Schools uses the Read It Once Again (RIOA) units in our Integrated Pre-K (IPK) Program in classrooms located in schools across the district. Our IPK classes support preschool students 3 and 4-years-old with individual education plans (IEPs) alongside peers who act as models to promote language development. Using the RIOA units supports our students by promoting early and foundational literacy skills in reading and math, as well as promote theme-based language and vocabulary to build background knowledge from a rich literature experience using children’s literature.
